Don't cry for GE, Fukushima!

international / prose / post

The crippled nuclear reactors at Fukushima have been described as the worst environmental disaster in history and failing another major comet impact on the scale of the one that eliminated reptilian mega-fauna -- the above claim is no exaggeration. Three hundred (300) tonnes of toxic radioactive water is flowing into the Pacific daily. The water has breached containment walls and now flows uncontrollably into the sea -- 'wonderful!'

fukushima_radioactive_water.jpg

People have been misled over this horrific, avoidable catastrophe, Japan has always been earthquake prone so that is not to blame, but CORPORATE and government corruption clearly is to blame.

The reactors were designed and built by mega-corporation, General Electric, which recklessly did not ensure that the reactors would shut down cleanly in the event of adverse tectonic activity! Safety features clearly required in a known unstable region were noticeably missing. GE is a typical American corporate that grabbed the money and ran from its responsibility.

But it can't run fast enough from Fukushima's toxic radiation and the strong possibility of major class action/litigation in the appropriate international court.

So how do we prevent these disasters from ever occurring again -- simply sue TEPCO and GE until they do not have a dollar between them; utilise all their resources to remedy the situation, strictly regulate every major corporation that produces toxic waste and apply the harshest penalties when regulations are breached or other problems encountered.

It is now very well known that governments effectively serve the corporations not the people; the onus and responsibility therefore falls on the shoulders of the people -- so live or die according to your works or the neglect thereof.

RESTORE real DEMOCRACY BY SIMPLY VOTING representative INDEPENDENTS into office and boycotting all major parties -- that simple!
