Known War Criminal to re-enter Oz Politics
by judd Monday, Aug 27 2012, 12:36am
international / prose / post

John 'aluminium tubing' Howard former PM and member of the notorious 'coalition of willing criminals' that illegally invaded Iraq based on a raft of orchestrated LIES, is to re-enter active Oz politics as part of an, wait for it, "eminent persons" committee, give Oz a break!

John Howard, war criminal
John Howard, war criminal

The man is a proven war criminal and heinous LIAR with over one million innocent Iraqi civilian deaths to his 'credit!' 'Eminent' war criminal, sure, but eminent person, no way!

Howard's decision comes shortly after another former PM and former Oz Defence Chiefs called for an inquiry into Australia's involvement in the Iraq invasion. So it appears that Howard is taking the 'criminal in plain sight' strategy developed by the Americans as a show of force and to demonstrate a flagrant contempt for international and local LAW.

Howard's move is a clear affront to LAW and MORALITY, especially in view of the abundant and damning information now available in the public domain. Put plainly the man should be held accountable for his role in the known illegalities that led to the criminal Iraq invasion and subsequent slaughter of so many innocent people.

Senior serving Oz ministers should busy themselves with issues of JUSTICE and resist Washington demands to compromise Julian Assange for publishing incontrovertible EVIDENCE of American war crimes -- has AUSTRALIA got its PRIORITIES in ORDER, we should all ask?

Arresting John 'aluminium tubing' Howard and some of his former senior ministers for their knowing involvement in the first civilian HOLOCAUST of the 21st century would be a very good start and a demonstration that Australia is a law abiding nation that respects the rights of people everywhere -- values which were once characteristic of the Australian culture. Howard's tactical re-emergence into active political life is an affront to all Aussies everywhere.

Story from The Australian follows:

Howard to help steer state party reform
by Imre Salusinszky

JOHN Howard has agreed to saddle up again for the Liberal Party and will help guide the NSW division towards a plebiscite model for selecting its state and federal parliamentary candidates.

The former prime minister's willingness to join an "eminent persons" committee on constitutional reform in NSW marks his first direct involvement in internal Liberal Party affairs since losing office in November 2007.

However, the establishment of the committee will depend on a meeting of the party's state council on September 22 agreeing in principle to switch from the current preselection panels to a system where all local branch members have a say in the selection of candidates.

The two-step process for the changes was approved on Friday evening at a meeting of the state executive.

The party's state president, NSW senator Arthur Sinodinos, brokered the deal between the Right faction, which believes it will gain from a plebiscite model, and the Left, which controls state executive and is sceptical about the change.

It is unclear whether the Right will have the numbers among about 550 state council delegates. Divisions over the issue run so deep that the state council meeting originally scheduled for last Saturday was deferred.

It is understood Mr Howard, who is attending the US Republican Party convention in Florida, agreed to become involved only on the condition such a committee would discuss how plebiscites would operate, not whether.

Mr Howard's long-held position, repeated to The Australian earlier this month, is that plebiscites offer a way to break the stranglehold of factions over party affairs.

Mr Sinodinos, who was formerly Mr Howard's chief of staff, said last night it was not decided whether Mr Howard would chair the committee, assuming the state council meeting decides to proceed.

"It's something he's got a particular interest in," Mr Sinodinos said. "He was happy to lend his experience and wisdom to the exercise.

"In considering any changes on this scale, it's important that party members have ownership of the changes, and that requires adequate consultation and ventilation of the options."
