Oz and Existing US Military Bases of Colonial Occupation

Oz FM engages in US occupation misinformation

A spoon full of salt and it still doesn't cut it! Lackey (sorry Bob, but if the shoe fits) Foreign Minister, Bob Carr, attempts to sell the notion that Oz refuses US military occupation in the form of bases. What about Julia Gillard's signed, sealed and delivered pledge of FIVE FULL SCALE (including nuclear equipped) US bases on Oz soil, Bob, did you conveniently forget that outrageous ACT OF TREASON?

Bob Carr
Bob Carr

A very sordid and transparent attempt by the Oz FM to disguise historical fact and take pressure off the Gillard government for signing Australian sovereignty away while on her subservient mission to Washington which was also marked by her now infamous, gut turning, grovel of an address to the American Congress. What is it you're actually trying to do with reality, Bob?

Is it perhaps a reaction to the tight-lipped stance and possible litigation on the illegal local deployment of the CIA developed Orwellian 'TRAPWIRE' surveillance package? Or is it a vain attempt to pretend that your stinking LACKEY government is somehow independent and self-determined?

Don't make us laugh Bob, both major parties sold their arses to Wall St and Washington decades past, just ask 'currency float,' Keating, 'aluminium tubing,' Howard and current Defence Minister, 'kneepads' Smith -- give us a bloody break with these tissue-thin yank media 'perception management' tricks!

We'll believe it when the 2500 occupying US marines fuck off out of Darwin and Pine Gap is either closed down or Russia and China are invited to build bases next to it -- to balance the imbalance of world power, dummy! If you people only had a modicum of political nous we would be a great nation indeed, take a lesson from Rafael Correa, you bloody SERVILE Canberra political dunces.

Oz is perfectly positioned to act as MEDIATOR to the superpowers and strike a much needed balance; we are blessed today with a geopolitical advantage in the region and no one in Canberra has the required political skill to capitalise on a situation that goes begging -- cos we're all too busy kowtowing and playing 'custard face' to the civilian killing, criminal yanks, which I might add, have yet to face war crimes charges from the material published by Aussie Julian Assange on WikiLeaks -- remember him, Bob?

You once helped me out when you were Premier but I'm afraid my patriotism is stronger than my former allegiance to a FAILED political party. You were once the party of the people Bob, now you compete with the conservatives to see which of you better serves the plutocrats and oligarchs!

As I said, we'll believe it when the occupying Marines fuck off and Pine Gap is decommissioned. You should've stayed away from Federal Labor twitching in its death throes, Bob.

From AFP:

Australia foreign minister rules out US bases

SYDNEY (AFP) - The United States will not seek permanent military bases in Australia and nor would hosting one be in Canberra's interests, Foreign Minister Bob Carr said on Saturday.

Australia has welcomed long-term ally Washington's plans for an enhanced naval presence in the Pacific and last year agreed to allow up to 2,500 US Marines to be deployed to a barracks near the northern city of Darwin.

But Carr rejected the idea of a permanent US military base in Australia.

"In fact, the Americans will not seek it because of the cost involved at a time when they are going to have to produce more cuts in their defence spending," he told Sky News.

"And second, because it doesn't fit with the way they project power.

"But above all... it's not in Australia's interest."

Carr said what Canberra liked about US troops training in the country was that it was "in and out".

"They're here, and they're out," he said, adding: "I don't think Australians will be comfortable defining themselves with permanent American bases."

Washington's plan to bolster its military presence in the strategically vital Asia-Pacific comes amid concerns about China's increasing assertiveness.

The deployment of US Marines to Darwin, the first of whom touched down in April on a six-month rotational basis, has irked Beijing, which has described the Marines' presence as proof of a "Cold-War mentality".

Carr said Canberra understood China's military modernisation and accepted that its rise in economic power would be matched by a defence upgrade.

"But just as we accept that, you, the Chinese, must accept that we are a small population holding a large continent and will, as we have done historically, look to an alliance with the United States," he said.

"But we reject utterly any notion of containing China. We look to engage with China."
