Firestorm

when the tinder is dry
and years of accumulated
undergrowth
reach dangerous levels
a spark,
only a spark
is required to start
a raging, runaway
inferno.
the Canberra cyclonic firestorm
of 2003
bears testimony to the
rapidity
with which ignited fuel
breaks all the rules
and wreaks major
devastation
at blistering speed.
once started
a firestorm is unstoppable
nothing is able to extinguish
a cyclonic inferno
it must burn itself out.
when social injustices reach
alarming levels
and the lies
of corrupt government
accumulate
to form explosive
huge reserves
expect
rapid, violent change,
and unpredictable destruction.
while such storms
are explosive,
skilled fire demagogues
are able to direct their
energies and course.
you think ur position, status
and wealth protect you,
no!
in fact they provide the fuel
that drives the inferno,
the roaring storm
that must consume
everything
before it diminishes
and becomes
controllable.
we wait patiently
for the inevitable spark
to ignite the accumulated
fuel and combustible
social tinder.
it is well we are ready
and able to direct
its course ...
