The Naked Face of Australian Racism Exposed to the World

It’s about time racist Australia became known to the world. A recent ABC Four Corners program has exposed conservative and far right Australians as the most foul bunch of bigotted, torturing, mindless racists the world has recently seen in peacetime. Australia now shares equal status with the infamous deep South of the USA, where ignorance, racism and brutality are a religion.

This shocking expose’ comes as no surprise to indigenous and immigrant Australians, they have all been subjected to Anglo-conservative abuses to varying degrees, which include vilifying verbal abuse, physical attacks and discriminatory (employment) behaviour, however, nothing compares to the extreme forms of abuse, amounting to physical and psychological torture, to which indigenous YOUTH in the Northern Territory have been subjected.

Frankly, it is gut-churning and abhorrent to the extreme and easily matches anything criminal American invaders have done in Iraq and Guantanamo Bay, but what makes it worse is these atrocities/CRIMES have been perpetrated against indigenous youth under the age of eighteen by adults serving Local, State and Federal governments. All politically involved Australian conservatives should be held to account as these incidences flower under conservative rule, no coincidence. It was former PM John Howard, who resurrected the long-buried corpse of ‘White (Anglo) Australia' for political purposes which triggered the Cronulla riots. Howard was a member of the ‘Coalition of Willing Criminals’ that invaded Iraq. However, Howard is now treated like royalty by Australian conservatives, who like their American counterparts, choose to turn a blind eye to his war criminal past and OVERT, divisive racism.

Today, after a conservative held double dissolution election, rabid far right groups have been elected to parliament, the most infamous racist among them is Pauline Hanson, who after decades on political fringes now has a voice in parliament, thank you very much incompetent conservative PM Malcolm Turnbull, who intentionally or not, engineered her entry into parliament. Hanson, an ignorant, parochial Queenslander, has honed her divisive political skills to a fine edge, she has eclectically drawn from every rabid extremist group in the country and espouses their principles, the results of which, shortly to be witnessed by the world, would only diminish Australia’s compromised reputation further -- shame on you, Australia, as indeed, Hanson received over half a million votes in a nation of only 24 million.

The source and inspiration of this type of politics is easily traced back to war criminal John Howard whose racist conservative push continues in various unpalatable forms today. Yet Howard should be placed on trial for his many war and other obvious crimes against the people and nation; he is, with partners Bush and Blair responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent brown-skinned civilians in the Middle East. The fact that the current conservative government refuses to hold a Chilcot type inquiry into Howard’s crimes indicates much, and so informed Aussies are not surprised by the horrific contents of the Four Corners documentary special, which contents are a progression or regression rather, of the racist politics of conservatism.

Indeed, if inclusive Australians are a force in this country something effective will be done in a timely manner, however, conservative PM Turnbull’s immediate response to hold a Royal Commission into the criminal abuse exposed in the program is merely a political face-saving, drawn-out process, which ensures that the horrific incidents and rabid Australian racism would hopefully fade into the background as the 24/hour terrorist-focusing ‘news’ cycle, distracts the public.

The WORLD shall soon see the content of the character of ALL Australians; whether these incidents are allowed to fade into the background or whether moral, decent and inclusive Aussies prevail by taking effective steps to eradicate racist, conservative politics in this nation.
