FBI Illegally Hacks into Apple iPhones
by lynkz Saturday, Apr 2 2016, 9:12pm
international / prose / post

In recent weeks various tech and mainstream news sites have run stories about the FBI’s successful hacking of an Apple iPhone, which high tech company Apple prides itself on security and privacy. So much for security and privacy! However, that is not the essential point here; Apple is a huge IT corporation and hacking is illegal regardless of who the offender is, I cite the numerous hackers now serving time, many of whom were arrested by the FBI and prosecuted for contravening hacker laws. So, as Richard Nixon once erroneously and infamously stated, ‘when the president does it (break the law), it’s not illegal.’ Well, one need only review history to assess how very wrong Nixon was.

And so we are faced with a clear illegality committed by the FBI, which compromises the security of a mega-corporation. Now, it should be remembered that Apple won its case against an FBI attempt to force Apple to compromise its own product, so the FBI without any regard whatsoever to the LAW, openly stated that they would (illegally) hack the device regardless of Apple winning the case. And so that came to pass at great cost to tax-payers i would add, notwithstanding the bragging by the FBI that it compromised Apple’s security, which act of course flagrantly VIOLATES US and international laws regarding hacking. So my obvious question is, why hasn’t the FBI, al la Richard Nixon, been prosecuted or at least forced to stand trial? The public would derive a great deal of knowledge via these proceedings about a 1984 Orwellian surveillance State.

So what about it Apple? You clearly have a RESPONSIBILITY to protect your brand name, product, company INTEGRITY, and the millions of users of Apple devices.

However, the outcome of this proposed case is a known, the proven criminal government and its agencies would prevail in the corrupt US legal system; however, if Apple takes this illegal hack lying down and refuses to protect its name and company integrity then consumers may wonder why they should purchase a high-priced device that is as easily hacked as any other. Indeed, a large part of Apple’s market is the result of its security promises -- in fact, for numerous reasons Apple MUST institute proceeding against the FBI in order to prove to consumers that it is SERIOUS about protecting their privacy AND is ready to protect the integrity of the company, notwithstanding the support of current and international laws relating to overt hacking, and in the FBI’s case, including clear refusal/rebuttal to abide by a US court decision.

If the international community wishes to verify for themselves how a known criminal government functions and is party to Nixon type illegality then legal pressure MUST be applied by Apple for false advertising in relation to security and the integrity of its products. Many nations have variations of hacker laws and would easily be able to hold Apple and the FBI to account. So, Apple has the prerogative and choice, to either PROSECUTE the FBI for a clear breach of the LAW and apply for compensation for intentionally compromising the security of its products or take it lying down and suffer the consequences.

Many permutations to such a case exist and the FBI would struggle to justify their illegal actions and the effect it has had on a multi-billion dollar corporation, which is easily able to prosecute for numerous breaches and apply for COMPENSATION, which would easily be in the range of billions of dollars. This type of legal deterrent would also do wonders to inhibit future criminal intentions and rogue activity by a criminal State.
