10 points for your effort, though it was hardly original the backgrounded alternative media has been stating everything you plagiarised, intentionally or not, for years and more, it tells the entire truth about this proxy fighting force created and supported by the CIA/Israel and Gulf State vassals to wreak havoc, destabilise and do the dirty work on the ground as international law prohibits most, with the exception of law-flouting America, developed nations from any illegal (uninvited) intervention in civil wars.

So how do you propose to defeat ISIL without attacking the heart, brain and organs of the beast? ISIL is clearly a puppet force in the employ of a superpower and other oil-wealthy nations pursuing their own agendas. Without telling the entire truth or background story of how this fighting force came into being and who supports it, you do yourself and your viewers and gross injustice -- do you drive a Toyota, Mr Aly? ISIL under any other name would survive and continue to wreak havoc for its evil masters if you do not tell the entire story.

The truth of ISIL’s creation, support and mission, hangs out like dog's balls and there simply are no excuses for informed media hosts such as yourself to withhold the background story or not to reveal the entire Truth – shame on your COWARDICE, as I know you know better but like ALL the other puppets in the mainstream sector you dance to a tune notwithstanding your intentions may be well meaning, but of course you have a mortgage to pay and a lifestyle to support, though your reticence speaks volumes about your INTEGRITY.

ISIL’s primary task was to create chaos in Syria/Iraq and depose any non-compliant leaders as it did in Libya. Western interests desperately seek to redraw maps of the Middle East in order to secure resources and pipeline corridors, and of course to eliminate all non-compliant forces, notwithstanding that ‘regime change’ REMAINS a grossly illegal act under international law defining the sovereignty of nations/states. You will note as history records, that Saddam and Gaddafi were overthrown and executed after their nations were illegally invaded or bombed to smithereens, Assad was next on the well-publicised list; a compliant Syria is essential (for geopolitical reasons) to the nefarious powers that support ISIL and its demented, bought or duped, conveniently armed fighters. The Truth is readily available in the public domain from many mainstream and alternative sources and you know it.

Simplistic emotive stories or editorials tailored for mass consumption actually assist the “bastards” you are condemning as they do NOT address the heart/SOURCE of the problem -- Mr Aly is a highly educated and informed person who spent many years as a presenter working for the public broadcaster.

The US has openly supplied arms to its proxy forces and when a particular group becomes too hot in the media they simply re-brand them and pretend it’s another group, as they have recently done in Syria; when supplying arms to al-Qaeda affiliates became an issue, they magically became the ‘Arab Resistance’ or some other crapulous name. Now America supports ‘moderate Arab fighters’ not al-Qaeda affiliates – in your dreams, Mr Aly. However, the home of marketing/advertising knows a little about the methods of mass persuasion and propaganda and a complicit mass media assists in the ruse to varying degrees, and you assist by not informing viewers of the entire Truth. Now this piece is less than 700 words; do yourself a favour Mr Waleed Aly be fair dinkum and tell the whole story, you’ve been here long enough to know that Oz culture values integrity and character above all else.

ISIL or any other proxy fighting force will never be defeated unless the entire bloody, criminal ruse is exposed – and you know it!

So Mr Aly perhaps you may wish to follow up on your editorial and do the misled masses a real favour by telling the whole truth of which you are acutely aware.
