What it Means to be an Anarchist
by shane Tuesday, Sep 22 2015, 8:43am
international / prose / post

Put simply anarchism is mutual aid, mutual cooperation, support and assistance; it’s not about me, me, me, it’s about us, the group, everyone, the whole.

In classical anarchism, exploitation of others is non-existent; there are no elites at the top of hierarchical social structures, there simply is everyone, globally and locally. The primary distinction or characteristic of anarchism is there are NO WARS or violent conflicts, as enemies do not exist in a global anarchistic society. Sounds too good to be real, you may imagine, the reason is simple, the entire world has been indoctrinated to believe ‘it’s either them or us!’

The divisionist ideologies of capitalism, and its photo-negative socialism/communism, which systems end in either totalitarianism or fascism, as history clearly teaches us, have FAILED dramatically today, an obvious fact. However, the global masses must learn the hard way by clinging to destructive ideologies and social systems before they are even able to imagine a viable alternative and apprehend the notion of universal cooperation and mutual aid, which I would add enabled humans to survive and rise as the dominant species.

Some remnant traditional societies, like the Inuit, Amazonian tribes and Australian aborigines have no notion of private property or individual ownership, indeed, some traditional societies do not have personal pronouns in their language. Instead they are acutely aware of the overall welfare of the clan, tribe or group as a necessary whole in order to survive and have lived cooperatively for thousands of years in tune with the greater HARMONY of nature.

It is truly unfortunate that humanity today adheres to its perverse divisionist ideologies, which have pushed humankind and the planet to an inevitable cathartic catastrophe – so be it! Let’s hope the remnants of humanity that survive the completely avoidable social and environmental catastrophe to come finally see the light.

And so once again ‘anarchism’ will become the unnamed natural social system for sustainability, harmony, peace and survival.
