‘Out of it’

A common vernacular expression which means, stoned, in la la land, divorced from reality etc, AND it applies not only to the fringe but to entire populations today, especially the American.

Mainstream discourse today has narrowed to an incredibly tiny range of topics, ‘me’ for the narcissistic generation, tits, for average American media consumers, war, terror, the economy and a host of other issues which distract from the most crucial issues that face the entire planet and its ‘out of it’ inhabitants.

The most critical issues, and this is not ‘opinion,’ are unarguably climate change and the world destabilising effects it will soon have; the displacement of democracy by corporate and banker elites intent on constant war and enslaving/containing populations with totalitarian police state pan-surveillance and violent methods, viable and sustainable healthy food production and the diminishing availability of fresh clean water and air; everything else comes a poor second to the above and associated issues. However, turn on your radios, TVs and other media devices and all one sees/hears are irrelevant distractions and the backgrounding of the world’s most critical issues – I mean is there a new drug that is undetectable and easily placed in urban water supplies or what, because I am utterly amazed how out of it and divorced from REALITY entire populations have become today?

Only a few decades past cohesive societies focused on the major issues affecting them and if those issues required remedial action then the diverse media and populations ‘hit the streets’ until our politicians got the message and returned society/the world to sanity. Today, however, the opposite applies, corporate owned governments and concentrated private mass media outlets promote insanity, war, chaos, environmental destruction and denounce sanity, sustainability and peaceful co-existence on our fragile earth.

All we see is video and print gaga, distractions and the sewage and titillation passing for news, while entire populations are subject to increased police oppression, rapidly diminishing freedoms/liberties and plummeting living standards -- and you reckon you’re sane, give me a break!

Well, tell it to your facebook ‘friends’ and demented relatives cos you’re CLEARLY fucked in the head. At the very least you’re (all) ‘out of it’ and there is no use attempting to reason with lunatics, space cadets and people divorced from reality, it’s far easier to let nature take its course and blow you all out of your dreamworlds into the nightmare world you have created by being astoundingly disconnected and ‘out of it!’
