A Measure of the Rapid Social Decline of America

Former disgraced president, Richard Nixon, during an interview about his involvement in an illegal ‘break and enter,’ infamously replied “when the president does it, it’s legal!” That statement has gone down in the infamous hall of historical outrages. However, we should remember the social outrage Nixon’s appalling statement elicited among the American masses of the time -- enough outrage to force his resignation or face the inglorious process of impeachment. History records that Nixon died some years later in disgrace and obscurity.

Now consider the magnitude of Nixon’s crime, an almost ‘J walking’ offence compared to ‘legal’ kill lists, torture, kidnapping, indefinite detention, mass murder and the theft of the precious resources of militarily weak nations, which is what the war on terror is really all about; readers should note that the Eastern and Southern Ukraine is where all the resources and gas reserves are located which spells the gross failure of the US sponsored neo-Nazi coup in western Ukraine. What I am expressing here is what most people should have determined for themselves by now, that the 9/11 global war on terror is a RUSE in order to steal, murder and overthrow legitimate foreign governments, install puppet regimes and illegally plunder invaded nations. Russia and China must now be regretting that they did not intervene when necessary, as the USA is now attacking by all and any means available, those two Asian superpowers -- the neo-con (fascist) agenda allows for no other powers to share in power or the spoils of hegemony and criminal wars of appropriation.

Now to more recent history which should mark the shocking measure of decline. I refer to the Bush/Cheney regime. When Bush was interviewed recently about the legality of torture he replied, to paraphrase, ‘that torture was legal,’ not because of Nixon’s arrogant statement but simply because the lawyers that were consulted -- handpicked for the job by the Bush regime -- were simply corrupt and compliant, as NOTHING justifies torture in a civilised world.

Today, however, the situation has devolved dramatically under elitist lackey, also handpicked for the job, ‘Hope and Change we can Believe in,’ (LOL) president Obama, who is running on the ‘legality’ of continuing war crimes, illegal civilian killing, drone attacks, and the overthrow of sovereign weaker nations; you see, all executive crimes in the USA today are 'legal’ regardless of whether it’s locking down an entire city and ‘legally’ searching your house at random to locate ONE mortally wounded teenager, or targeted assassinations of anyone the government chooses (in secret) to ‘legally’ kill -- it really can’t get any worse for the citizens of America, or can it?

Can you believe that some people are actually suggesting that torture is actually illegal, the hide, and are about to institute proceedings in the relevant international criminal courts to prosecute all offenders including Obama and his officials? Well, I don’t believe it, as I am a foreigner, Australian, and have the advantage of a broader objective view and let’s face it, all outsiders are only able to see is the timidity, fear and obsequiousness of the American population, which today accepts all manner of HORRENDOUS crimes committed against them and in their name.

We’ll soon see whose assessment is more accurate, care to make a wager, any of you useless American shits?
