Reprehensible Cowardice
by stacy Friday, Oct 24 2014, 3:19am
international / prose / post

The world’s leading civilian killing nation (an enduring statistical fact) is the USA.

To lead in this way a culture must have certain cultural dispositions that allow it to slaughter millions of innocent civilians without concern -- the most extreme example of which was during the Indo-Chinese war where the Americans adopted a ‘carpet bombing’ campaign that slaughtered millions of innocents, as carpet bombing means what it says, blanket, indiscriminate bombing with no regard whatsoever for innocent civilians.

These types of actions need to be placed in context and that context is war crimes courts and tribunals and other institutions/organisations that deal with crimes against humanity, as America is clearly culpable in that regard, however, we know that these courts have been politicised (corrupted) so I would like to explore the cultural mentality behind these actions and why they are tolerated.

Immediately it becomes apparent that killing civilians -- unarmed non-combatants -- is a reprehensible, cowardly action for which legitimate excuses are few; one could argue that civilians are killed in all wars and cases are rare, but the reverse is true of the USA which consistently kills civilians in large numbers by any available means, the Iraq embargoes and sanctions resulted in the deaths of over half a million innocent children but that humanitarian tragedy was described by the then US Secretary of State, Madam Albright, as “worth it!" I’m sure the world would like to know to which value/object/thing the USA ascribes a higher value than the lives of innocent children. But we already know, in the case of Iraq it is oil, a tradable resource commodity that other civilised nations purchase.

Once a culture recognises anything higher in value than human life then it not only betrays itself and everything it purportedly believes in, but it also loses its status as civilised -- make no mistake about that!

To kill fellow human beings for profit goes against our innate instincts so we must be trained and/or indoctrinated to engage in these immoral acts and crimes for the benefit of singularly driven corporate entities. Populations must first be taught to hate via the process of demonisation then false flags are utilised to mobilise the population into action against the hated group, the Nazis excelled in this area and the USA has learned well from their example. Nazis created the first modern propaganda ministry (the CFR is the US equivalent today) whose express purpose was to mislead, vilify, and disseminate wholesale LIES to the people, especially false notions of superiority or ‘exceptionalism.’ A German officer questioned by a Jewish American investigator after the holocaust, considered eradicating Jews no different to eradicating cockroaches and other vermin! And so we see the efficacy of these modern propaganda techniques which the Nazis perfected.

Nevertheless, in today’s world with the horrors of very recent history in our consciousness we have no excuses for being tolerant to war and other crimes against humanity committed by nations, groups or individuals, especially considering that model of behaviour is a replica of Nazi/fascistic methods of social control.

It is also worth mentioning at this stage that America is a superpower, one of three in the world today, and noting that every nation or country targeted by America in the past fifteen years has been much weaker militarily and presents as easy push-overs to invade and plunder. We also know that continually picking on much weaker opponents is the act of a bully and lawless intimidator. If might is right then all schoolyard bullies must be honoured for their despicable, violent behaviour.

America as a nation could easily be reduced to having the moral standards of an adolescent schoolyard bully but on a far more destructive level. America kills in order to obtain the articles it considers more important or valuable than human life -- in that sense, and I am no religionist, America could be described as 'Satanic,' as indeed, the grotesque powers that actually determine US policy and its course in the world, personify that evil.

It is little wonder that the instincts of the majority of well adjusted human beings on this planet run contrary to everything that America represents today -- that fact alone spells doom for the bully and tyrant.
