The Police State is Spying on YOU NOW, where is your Backbone?
baz, Friday, Mar 27 2015, 1:14am
With the passing of the meta-data retention Bill into what is laughingly called the ‘law’ in vassal State Australia, the nation has followed the U.S. into totalitarianism and the evil, mega-wealthy, shadowy, ruling elite couldn’t be happier; they now have the means to spot dissenters and fighters for freedom and DEMOCRACY with ease. So who takes responsibility for this outrageous anti-democratic act, the people of course – corrupt, unrepresentative politicians are a given these days? (story and 1 image)

"Comply or Die" - Police State
truebluemajority via demi, Thursday, Mar 26 2015, 7:40am
Do YOU need more proof - indefinite detention without charge or trial, genital groping by DHS perverts, rendition, legalised torture, secret legal assassination lists etc; that is America TODAY and it's a very sad case principally because the people wear it without massive opposition. And if you decide to oppose this criminal police State you face legal summary execution at the hands of the police, which have been given almost free rein to suppress and oppress the population. The 'free' USA today makes the former totalitarian Soviet Union look tame -- at least they staged mock trials before eliminating dissenters. (story and 2 images)

HYPOCRITE Obama - A320 crash “heartbreaking” … so many children on board
tori, Wednesday, Mar 25 2015, 12:23am
The recent loss of the German A320 airbus in the French Alps with 150 dead is a tragic accident and our sympathy goes out to those impacted by the tragic disaster. However, when the leader of the world’s leading child-killing nation pretends sorrow over the loss of children on board it only amplifies the crimes, outrageous hypocrisy and double standards of the USA, and there is no avoiding the millions of children murdered by the US in its illegal wars of resource appropriation/THEFT. The AIIB - China Ensures that America has lost its pathological bid for World Domination
leon, Tuesday, Mar 24 2015, 9:05am
We should all know of the pushy overbearing alpha-male, narcissistic types and their insensitive brutish behaviour; I remember a John Wayne movie depicting the archetypal American male confronting the skill of a Chinese martial arts expert demonstrating his swordsmanship. After various gyrations and intimidating manoeuvres by the martial artist, John Wayne (America) reached for his .45 and shot the martial artist dead – that being a demonstration of American supposed superiority, cultural consciousness and technological dependence. Where Does All the Money Go?
joe, Tuesday, Mar 24 2015, 12:14am
The Fed and its major reserve banks throughout the world have been printing money like toilet paper for years, thousands of trillions in fact, but if you’re an average citizen you see almost none of it; nevertheless, money doesn’t just disappear, someone appropriates it, so the huge 2008 ‘economic crisis/collapse’ as it’s known in the media, was only a collapse for those that didn’t get the cash, that’s the first indisputable point I would like to make. British Man Wins Legal Case against BBC for 9/11 Cover-Up
EV via bob, Sunday, Mar 22 2015, 8:57pm
Horsham, UK, 2013 – Tony Rooke, in an act of civil disobedience, refused to pay the mandatory £130 TV license fee claiming it violates Section 15 of the Terrorism Act. Rooke’s accusation was aimed at the BBC who reported the collapse of WTC 7 over 20 minutes before it actually fell, and the judge accepted Rooke’s argument. While it was not a public inquiry into 9/11, the recognition of the BBC’s actions on September 11th are considered a small victory, one that was never reported in the US. (story and 1 image)

Assange likely to remain in embassy pending U.S. Wikileaks probe
Mark Hosenball via stan, Saturday, Mar 21 2015, 10:47pm
Personally I have no time for Assange as he broke the cardinal rule for hackers, ANONYMITY, and set an appalling example for young hackers, many of whom have since been rounded up and given long jail sentences; Assange and others are now paying the price for seeking personal notoriety -- skilled young hackers beware! Nevertheless, Assange's flawed personality issues aside, there are critical issues at stake, not least exposing State crimes, journalistic integrity and freedom of speech. Assange's forced confinement is not only the result of his own stupidity but is an indictment on Australian conservative government's that make a practice of licking American arse and feeding their own citizens to the dogs, I refer to the outrageous surrender of the 'Bali nine' to a barbaric nation that executes drug offenders, the AFP has much to answer for in this regard and the current Abbott government has much to answer for for not lifting a finger to effectively assist Oz CITIZEN, Assange. We are Not Impotent Americans - Fracking is being Stopped in Oz
frank, Friday, Mar 20 2015, 10:21pm
Democracy -- or people power -- lives in Australia, ‘fracking’ is now a major State election issue in NSW, which proves to all citizens that corporate friendly conservative governments can be ousted if they arrogantly and contemptuously ignore the wishes and will of the people and it is widely known that the Australian people are extremely protective of their home/nation.

The Conflict Over the China-backed Asian Investment Bank
Nick Beams via dulcie, Thursday, Mar 19 2015, 9:52am
The decision by major European powers to join the $50 billion China-backed Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a significant blow to the United States. It is a clear sign that, amidst deepening global stagnation, the economic mechanisms through which the US has exerted its hegemony are breaking down as other imperialist powers assert their independent interests. Mega-wealthy Western Elite Losing its Grip on World
Paul Craig Roberts via stan, Wednesday, Mar 18 2015, 9:14pm
Ancient Samurai were aware that bloody hands lose their grip on weapons and so they used shark skin to compensate for this potentially fatal combat problem. However, Asians are far more adept, creative and ingenious than the corporate bought dunces that populate Congress and the puppets in the Whitehouse. It appears that Asian or Eastern guile and ingenuity will once again prevail against a brutish, mass murdering, rustic enemy.
The nation with the bloodiest hands in the current war between East and West is undoubtedly America and it has not been able to compensate or mitigate the problem as metaphorically described above. And so the slow but very sure and steady progress/strategies of the East will inevitably prevail as money ALWAYS follows money; the forced and unwelcomed allegiances to Washington are evaporating as I write.

Michael Liedtke via sal, Wednesday, Mar 18 2015, 8:32am

The Big Dick School of American Patriotism
Nan Levinson via jaxie, Wednesday, Mar 18 2015, 7:55am
Let’s face it: we live in a state of pervasive national security anxiety. There are various possible responses to this low-grade fever that saps resolve, but first we have to face the basis for that anxiety -- what I’ve come to think of as the Big Dick School of Patriotism, or (since anything having to do with our present version of national security, even a critique of it, has to have an acronym) the BDSP. Tony Abbott Hasn’t Changed One Iota
stan, Monday, Mar 16 2015, 2:20am
Abbott’s latest appalling gaffe – a “ life-style choice” -- regarding the impoverished indigenous population, is typical of his combative, Darwinian mindset, nothing new, and that is the point, he views the vulnerable and weak with contempt, his heartless attack on young students and the aged/vulnerable in our community is known, those actions speak the truth about Abbott and his Libs; all Abbott has done recently, to lift the opinion polls, is put on a mask, his more contentious policies, like the medicare co-payment/tax, have simply been put on the backburner not abandoned. Abbott is now attempting to deceive the public with a disposable persona fixed to his face with MORE LIES and more duplicity – it’s all bullshit, just more of his public fakery, deception and duplicitous nature, this ‘leopard’ will NEVER change his spots, as is obvious now to all. ISIL and US Empire – Their Unholy Alliance Fully Exposed
Joachim Hagopian via larry, Thursday, Mar 12 2015, 2:03am
Let’s be perfectly clear. The United States is not actually at war with ISIS. As Global Research director, economist and author Michel Chossudovsky plainly points out recently, Obama is simply waging “a fake war” against the Islamic State forces, putting on another propaganda show for mainstream media to keep his flock of American sheeple asleep in echo-chambered darkness. With a mere cursory review of recent historical events, one can readily realize that virtually everything Big Government tells us is happening in the world, you can bet is a boldface lie. Washington’s Delusions on Delusions
Robert Parry via stan, Thursday, Mar 12 2015, 12:07am
The chasm between reality and the U.S. political/media elite continues to widen with Official Washington’s actions toward Iran and Russia making “the world’s sole remaining superpower” look either like a Banana Republic (on Iran) or an Orwellian Dystopia (regarding Russia). (story and 1 image)

CIA torturers and the leaders who approved their actions must face the Law
Chelsea E Manning via dulcie, Wednesday, Mar 11 2015, 11:45pm
Successful intelligence gathering through interrogation and other forms of human interaction by conventional means can be – and more often than not are – very successful. But, even though interrogation by less conventional methods might get glorified in popular culture – in television dramas like Law and Order: Criminal Intent, 24 and The Closer and movies like Zero Dark Thirty – torture and the mistreatment of detainees in the custody of intelligence personnel is, was and shall continue to be unethical and morally wrong. Under US law, torture and mistreatment of detainees is also highly illegal. (story and 1 image)
