Turnbull: What’s ‘Exciting’ about a Useless, Spineless PM?
by darcy Friday, Apr 1 2016, 8:08pm
international / prose / post

Australia’s conservative government has PROVEN itself to be one of the most dysfunctional governments in Australia’s political history. The sitting government’s tenure has been marked by an appalling series of calamities, first inflicted on the public by corporate puppet and supreme dunce, Tony Abbott, who was leading his party to ruin at speed. Then with much fanfare and media affection, a do-nothing Rudd type narcissist took the helm with promises of “innovative, agile, exciting,” leadership. Well, I need hardly mention the inability of the Turnbull government to make ANY coherent decision or offer any acceptable policy to the people. In fact, the Turnbull government is hopeless, however, the people must assess the Liberal Party from the time it gained office to today, and what an abysmal performance record it has.

Turnbull -- Hopeless!
Turnbull -- Hopeless!

Of course the conservatives are playing the blame game, it’s the senate at fault not our stunningly stupid political leadership and inability to negotiate with other parliamentarians of different persuasions. Previous hopeless Labor governments were at least able to negotiate policies through the senate with overall numbers against them, you see, it’s about negotiating, compromise and agreement, talents clearly lacking in conservative ranks.

Turnbull has taken the conservative blame game a step further by now shifting focus to premiers, one could almost see Turnbull’s tragic thinking process, ‘well, I had a good (unoriginal) idea – allowing states to raise their own taxes -- but the premiers blocked ‘my’ plan, of course the implication being it’s my fault but the premiers’, when in fact it’s entirely Turnbull’s political ineptitudes that resulted in the premiers rejecting ‘his’ impractical “major reform.” The most telling moment of Turnbull’s incompetence is when the Queensland premier held up a piece of A4 paper to the media and said this is the information the government provided about its proposed plan – the sheet was blank on both sides! Someone forgot basic politics and basic political etiquette; surely after the Abbott fiasco, it should have become obvious that conservatives learn to talk to people outside their inner, navel gazing, circle; however, even ‘God’s gift to Australia,’ Malcolm Turnbull, failed to apprehend the obvious and simply announced ‘his’ proposal without adequate advanced warning or talks. So, it’s not my fault, it’s the premiers’ -- rubbish!

Australians are now facing the result of years of allowing lying narcissists, incompetents and puppets of the elite end of town to lead them. The result is obvious, TOTAL FAILURE!

Neither major owned party has ADEQUATELY addressed the issue of REVENUE, in fact the conservatives stubbornly and repeatedly state that it’s ‘spending’ that is the problem not revenue, complete fantasy as any primary school kid is able to look at stats over the past decades and easily see how the big end of town has steadily reduced its tax input to the nation, in fact charts are STARK in this regard. But of course the big end of town owns both major parties and hence the shemozzle in which the nation now finds itself, so, supporting either major party becomes the fool’s approach to solving Australia’s political dilemma.

The electorate is now urgently faced with initiating RADICAL CHANGE at the ballot box in the form of withdrawing support for the two-party road to ruin in the form of a revolving chair circus – neither party has come up with acceptable solutions though Labor’s policies are at least a feeble attempt.

So Oz, is it time to target the corporate elites whose multimillion dollar incomes do not reflect performance but rigging the game and controlling governments. Of course, a truly REPRESENTATIVE INDEPENDENT LEADER is the answer, but who in Australia is up to the task at this point in time, no-one!

The people must accept the responsibility of allowing governments, over the DECADES to lie, cheat, buck-pass, blame AND DO NOTHING SUBSTANTIVE for the nation/people. So if we’re all looking for someone to blame that person is no further away than the mirror.

Governments are merely a reflection of the cultural character, and we deserve the hopeless, culturally reflective, incompetent, evasive, lying, cheating, governments we have placed in power.

Enjoy the circus of the next absurd federal election, which promises to be a bewdy, and remember, it all adds up to the continuing RAPID decline of Australia, a nation that was once the envy of the world.
