Top Military Brass Accused of Flipping ISIS Intel 'On Its Head' posted by Lauren McCauley via jill, 2015-09-17 07:54:57 Intelligence analysts are accusing the upper brass of the U.S. Military's Central Command of "flipping everything on its head" in order to present the United States' ongoing war on ISIS in a positive light and maintain the bombing of Iraq and Syria. General Petraeus Calls For Recruiting Al Qaeda posted by Bill Van Auken via stan, 2015-09-17 07:46:01 Last week, US officials once again marked the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on New York City and Washington with solemn speeches vowing a never-ending war on terrorism. President Barack Obama spoke to US troops at Fort Meade, Maryland about “significant threats coming from terrorist organizations and a terrorist ideology,” while US Defense Secretary Ashton Carter vowed at a Pentagon ceremony that “terrorists will not escape the long arm and the hard fist of American justice.” (full story) prose / international
Malcolm Turnbull, “member for Goldman Sachs …” posted by ned, 2015-09-15 11:09:13 is how Kevin Rudd once referred to Turnbull in parliament who was also a former private banker and personal lawyer to plutocrat Kerry Packer, so it really isn’t too difficult to predict the type of elite serving, conservative government to come, well at least not for honest, fair dinkum, alternative media journos. But alas, the mass media fraternity, including the ABC, is already running with the spin, which reduces to how wonderful Turnbull will be for the ‘economy’ and how popular he is with Labor voters, well yea, for those that are unable to review history and assess formative patterns of behaviour. Bye, Bye, Tony Abbott! posted by darcy, 2015-09-14 11:28:32 Earlier this evening Australia’s worst performing PM in living memory was dumped by a party that clearly should have acted sooner; Abbott’s two years of non-government, characterised by short term tricks, slogans, outright lies and his pathetic attempts to mesmerise the public rather than perform all contributed to his demise. Abbott and his loyal stooges never ceased blaming the former government for THEIR woeful performance and it was revealing to note that his last statement before the spill also elicited another comparison with the former government. CLEARLY, Abbott’s mindset is locked in opposition mode not ruling mode, the reason was/is obvious, Abbott has no notion of how to govern in his own right, notwithstanding he is, as former PM Paul Keating put it, an ‘idiot and dunce.’ (full story) prose / international
Strategic Info Wars: Syria, Russia and the Balkans posted by Andrew Korybko via stan, 2015-09-13 20:13:28 Russia has taken the lead in supporting Syria this summer, actively initiating efforts to bring a diplomatic resolution to the country’s crisis and assemble an inclusive anti-ISIL coalition. The rapid pace at which it’s working is due in large part to the looming specter of a joint American-Turkish invasion force which hangs ominously over the Mideast. Disturbed at the success that Russia has had so far in reaching out to the US’ traditional Mideast allies, as well as that staying power of the Syrian Arab Army in holding firm against the latest onslaughts against it, the US commanded its media proxies to initiate an intense information war against Syria, hoping to both break the back of its resistance and complicate Russian efforts to assist it. Corbyn: conservatives faced with tactical DEMOCRACY in UK posted by Peter Dominiczak via james, 2015-09-13 10:28:21 It seems that professional bought and elite owned politicians have no answer for a real peoples' representative like Jeremy Corbyn, such is the corrupt nature of western politics today. World’s Biggest Dunce Leader, Tony Abbott posted by darcy, 2015-09-12 23:53:15 After the first leadership spill in conservative ranks, grossly incompetent leader Tony Abbott managed to survive on the proviso that he would change and improve his performance after 18 months of deplorable non-government and the usual disconnect that conservatives display toward the people. Spineless Russia allows US and Vassal allies to go on Bombing Picnic over Syria posted by baz, 2015-09-12 11:00:39 Where are the missiles Russia promised Syria to defend its air space, withheld by mouse Putin who is infamous for sacrificing allies and failing to decisively protect Russian interests? Jeremy Corbyn Landslide Victory of UK Labour Leadership posted by jess, 2015-09-12 05:34:03 Corbyn's victory is clearly the result of a disenfranchised population sick of lying, plutocrat-serving leaders like Blair and Cameron. Choke on it Rupert Murdoch and ilk! (full story) prose / international
Europe’s Elections: A Coming Storm? posted by Conn M. Hallinan via jill, 2015-09-12 01:21:00 Between now and next April, four members of the European Union (EU) will hold national elections that will go a long ways toward determining whether the 28-member organization will continue to follow an economic model that has generated vast wealth for a few, widespread misery for many, and growing income inequality. The choice is between an almost religious focus on the “sin” of debt and the “redemption” of austerity, as opposed to a re-calibration toward economic stimulus and social welfare. Syria and the Criminality of Regime Change posted by jack, 2015-09-12 00:50:04 From the outset let’s establish a legal fact, and that is that no nation has the legal right to militarily intervene in the political affairs of another nation without a request from its government -- international LAW is very clear on the matter. Lynch Mobs and 9/11 posted by gail, 2015-09-11 13:21:47 It’s the14th anniversary of perhaps the most inept and transparent false flag operation in modern history, the only people that believe the US government story are those that have not taken the trouble to investigate and research the matter. Regardless of whatever approach is taken it soon becomes apparent that the entire official story is as holey as Swiss cheese and I’m not going to waste space listing the thousands of verifiable flaws in the government fiction; the remaining believers (mental sloths) that are interested are able to educate themselves from the wealth of credible information available in the public domain. Australia Joins Another Illegal War posted by James O'Neill via sal, 2015-09-11 12:04:07 On Wednesday 9 September 2015 the Australian government announced that it was going to use the Royal Australian Air Force in bombing targets that it says can be identified as being those of ISIS, or the “death cult” as Australian Prime Minister persists in calling them. Incoherent, Strategy-devoid Syrian Bombing Policy posted by Greg Maybury via stan, 2015-09-11 01:23:49 As expected, Australia’s Prime Minister Tony Abbott announced a decision by the government to participate in airstrikes on ISIS strongholds inside Syria. But what was less expected was the decision — taken at the same Cabinet meeting and announced at the same press conference — to accept an additional 12,000 Syrian refugees, along with spending $A44 million supplying 240,000 refugees with “cash, food, water and blankets” in Lebanon, Turkey and Jordan. 9/11 Truth: De-Bunking Neocon 9/11 “Big Lie Propaganda” posted by Dr. Gary G. Kohls via shirl, 2015-09-10 23:19:16 You unpatriotic ‘9/11 Truthers’ can have annual conspiracy conventions on 9/11, with a host of speakers. To use a Russian expression, the dogs may bark as the train roars along. You are the dogs, and we are the train. Keep whining. We will keep on declaring ourselves unconvinced. We still own the TV, we still own the military, and you can chatter on the internet all you want as you fade into ineffectual obscurity. (Tongue-in-cheek satire from fellow 9/11 Truth-seeker Greg Ziegler PhD, a former US Military Intel officer and retired professor, whose commentary inspired this column) (full story) prose / international
