In the latest example of why the "mainstream media" is facing an historic crisis of confidence among its readership; the huge and unprecedented blowback following Craig Timberg's November 24 Washington Post story, "Russian propaganda effort helped spread ‘fake news’ during election, experts say." Last Wednesday saw a lengthy editor's note appear on top of the original article in which the editor not only distances the WaPo from the "experts" quoted in the original article, whose "work" served as the basis for the entire article (and which became the most read WaPo story the day it was published) but also admits the Post could not "vouch for the validity of PropOrNot's finding regarding any individual media outlet", in effect admitting the entire story may have been, drumroll "fake news" itself and conceding the Bezos-owned publication may have engaged in defamation by smearing numerous websites - Zero Hedge included - with patently false and unsubstantiated allegations clearly designed to damage. While the language in the report is subtler and less incendiary than similar documents in the past, the determination to unilaterally pursue world domination through extreme violence remains the cornerstone of the new strategy. Readers will not find even a hint of remorse in the NMS for the vast destruction and loss of life the US caused in countries that posed not the slightest threat to US national security. Instead, the report reflects the sick resolve of its authors and elite constituents to continue the carnage and bloodletting until all potential rivals [imagined or otherwise unjustly targeted] have been killed or eliminated and until such time that Washington feels confident that its control over the levers of global power cannot be challenged. That could easily be facilitated by dangerous legislation quietly moving through Congress that would create a totalitarian environment for government thought police to bring an iron jackboot down upon whatever a new intelligence committee with sweeping powers deems to be "Russian" propaganda. I would begin with a question. Under international and local law is any person, agency or entity allowed to murder with impunity? Some of you that have taken for granted certain events which have become ‘naturalized’ may be shocked by the answer, which obviously is NO! With REALITY, not media induced fantasy, now established, I would refer to the recent death of Fidel Castro, call him what you will, dictator, savior or whatever, as that is NOT the issue -- never allow your emotions to blind reason. Or that 9/11 wasn’t an inside job -- consider just one of hundreds of implausibilities, all the surveillance cameras surrounding the Pentagon, which footage was confiscated by the FBI and secret service -- and what was offered to the public a very questionable few seconds of an airliner purportedly impacting the Pentagon. Of course no major airline wreckage was evident at the impact site, it couldn’t have been, as the Pentagon was struck by a missile, images of the entry point in the building were/are widespread.
