There are numerous factors governing health and longevity; anecdotal evidence suggests that our great grandparents lived simpler, healthier, longer, more active lives than we do today. Anthropological studies have determined that the longest lived tribes on earth eat simple, uncomplicated natural foods and drink from pure, natural flowing water sources. By comparison the modern age is a soup of toxins, chemicals and (depleted) fast foods (capitalism) that result in diabetes epidemics and a myriad of other health complaints. People are sold on 'glamorous' conveniences for profit with minimal regard to health consequences. Non-stick cookware has also been reported to be carcinogenic. (full story)

I have long been a believer and proponent of wild food as the healthiest food for human consumption – it stands to reason does it not? No chemical treatments whatsoever and an entirely natural (nature ‘certified’) organic environment. However, it has been a very long time since urban and rural populations went ‘walk-about’ gathering wild food and following seasonal pickings. So we are faced today with the reality of the intensive commercial production of organic and non-organic food. (full story)

Three diggers were killed in Oruzgan province today by an unknown assailant wearing an Afghan uniform, who also managed to escape on foot. In another incident two Aussie SAS were killed in a helicopter crash in Helmund province. A sad day for Australia but we shouldn't be in Afghanistan fighting America's Corporate wars to begin with -- our stepped withdrawal cannot come soon enough. However, the tragedy in Afghanistan is overshadowed by the SORDID attempt of reprehensible LYING slag and Washington doormat, Juliar Gillard, attempting to gain political points by feebly making associations with the Bali bombing and the heroic battle of Long Tan -- give Oz a break!.
