Morally Bankrupt

So few people today value conduct based on morality, ethics, cooperation, mutual assistance and civilised values and even less are willing to uphold and defend these values -- values which took humankind thousands of years to develop and refine – in fact, these values were necessary for the formation of all large, viable human societies. However, as we are all aware, antithetical forces have always haunted mankind. Humans are constantly plagued with the presence of the most wicked, selfish, destructive and evil tendencies, which lurk inside each and every one of us – those forces are so destructive some say it’s a wonder we got as far as we did!
Entering the 21st century we would have expected more positive progress (however slow) in the direction that civilisation has taken for thousands of years; but as is clearly evident today the so-called ‘democratic’ nations have taken a giant leap backwards and have adopted selfish and extremely destructive behaviours, which evolutionists have determined lead to catastrophe and ruin for species that live in social groups; it has recently been discovered/deduced that evolution favours cooperative, mutually assisting groups rather than self-seeking, competitive individuals, something which is borne out in nature and has been written about by early anarchist writers such as Kropotkin – his classic text “Mutual Aid” is available in the ‘file archive’ section of this site.
Nevertheless, the good-evil dichotomy exists in all human beings and regardless of the number which fall one way or the other, there will always be those that champion the good and others that follow evil – however, it is the job of culture to ensure that evil NEVER triumphs over good and that the positive forces -- morality, ethics, fair play and justice -- that hold society together are never compromised!
Not only are we all obliged to assist each other but we are obligated to support those that champion the positive values that promote the evolution/persistence/continuation of the species. In that sense we are all obligated to support Manning, Snowden, Assange in their fight against the evil forces that threaten to destroy not only human society but all life on earth! [Yes, it has come to that!]
I need not elaborate as we are all human and should be aware of the forces of which I speak. It is therefore incumbent on everyone, especially public figures, media commentators authors, etc., to enlighten those that continue in ignorance or have been led astray by evil men and women.
We certainly would not want to end up in a nihilistic society where minority evil forces hold sway over the moral majority, which are regarded as ‘enemy’ to be monitored, indefinitely detained, tortured and even murdered – would we? Imagine allowing an evil minority to plunge the entire world into a state of permanent war!
Now to the plain reality; we are simply NOT required to tolerate rogues, criminals and killers, regardless
of their office, for an instant. Currently we have an Attorney General that refuses to pursue Wall Street criminals but maniacally pursues those that champion moral values and principles. We also have a president that has 'given himself' authority to secretly compile lists of victims he intends to extra-judicially MURDER, for Christ’s sake!
The minority forces that have hijacked most western democracies today are clearly no better than organised crime syndicates; we did NOT spend millennia evolving sophisticated societies and laws to allow criminal and nihilistic forces to dominate at this critical phase in our social evolution.
JUSTICE must be RESTORED and the criminal minority in power dealt with according to existing laws, which are completely adequate for the task.
Rather than everyone attempting to strike out on their own, it is far more sensible, effective and expedient to rally behind those that have already proven themselves to be champions of constructive values and social/moral principles -- DEMAND that justice is served in relation to Manning, Snowden and other whistleblowers that have exposed the heinous criminality of those in power.
If criminal regimes continue to ignore calls for justice, or if they engage in oppressive measures to quell protests, then mobilise under the banner of JUSTICE and together take the issue and your demands to the political capitals of your respective nations.
Real Democracy is an active not passive PROCESS.
