the shore whispers tonight --
i wrap myself securely
in the warmth and safety
of the darkness

a child shuns
the light preferring
night and its soothing
softness

the sea invites
when unseen

sea rhythms --
hypnotic background sounds
to’ing and fro’ing
in sync with
the pulse of creation,
the throb of quiet delight
