Elusive Realities

Hugo Chavez, the democratically elected socialist president of Venezuela, died this week of cancer and only hours after his death was announced puppet president Obama released a prepared press statement, not expressing his remorse over the death of a great reformist leader that survived all CIA attempts to remove him from power, but the usual bribe 'incentives’ message to the remaining Venezuelan leadership. That is to be expected from ‘buy or bomb,’ America; however, the following assault on reality was not expected.

Obama, seemingly oblivious to what America has become under his watch, mafia style kill lists, indefinite detention without charge, escalated Drone campaigns and a civilian killing criminal military, made the following statements:

“With free and fair elections, Venezuela can begin to restore its once robust democracy and ensure respect for the human, political and civil rights of its people, he said.

“As Venezuela begins a new chapter in its history, the United States remains committed to policies that promote democratic principles, the rule of law, and respect for human rights,” he said in a short written statement.”
After such ridiculous assertions and hypocritical claims one has to wonder what they put in American drinking water for the people to believe that rubbish.

As Obama is a puppet president and does what he is told by the unrepresentative moneyed elite or plutocrats, he may be unaware that Chavez had been elected to office in free, fair, democratic elections on a number of occasions. Unlike previous Venezuelan corrupt elitist regimes which exploited and deprived the underprivileged, Chavez was acutely aware of the need to respect human rights and support the underprivileged people of his nation; he funneled huge amounts of the nation’s oil profits and wealth back to the common people -- this is in stark contrast to the situation prevailing in the United States where unrepresentative minority elites are plundering the nation’s assets, stealing its wealth with impunity and casting hard working American citizens, once the backbone of the country, onto the streets.

Indeed, after the death of its president, Venezuela is now faced with returning to corrupt, unrepresentative elitist rule and exploitation or continuing the reforms Chavez initiated and implemented.

Obama, obedient traitorous puppet to the end, continued reading from the prepared script, he stated that the US remains “committed” to promoting democratic principles; fancy words but the reality is quite the contrary. Nations that are led by regimes that are not friendly to the US are subject to foreign intervention and subversive tactics designed to destabilise, cause social unrest and foment revolution in order to facilitate the installation of more US compliant regimes into office, I cite Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Egypt, fragmented Balkan States, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, as examples. The US also has a proven track record of deposing or assassinating leaders it considers resistant to Corporate exploitation, as recent history clearly indicates.

But the best I reserved for last; Obama also claimed that the US is ‘committed’ to the ‘rule of law and human rights;’ America expresses these commitments by introducing indefinite detention without charge or trial based on suspicion and subjecting innocent civilians to carpet bombing, Drone strikes and other air attacks that have indiscriminately slaughtered over ten million innocent civilians since the Korean war, an accomplishment the USA can wear as a badge of dishonour and extreme hypocrisy.
