COURAGE, The Missing Crucial Ingredient

I am always amused by the articles and lectures of American progressives and leftist commentators, like Chris Hedges, calling on the American masses to free themselves from the yoke of Corporate bondage and rally to the call of freedom and democracy; notwithstanding, few Americans know the meaning of the word, democracy!

Hedges’ pleas, deductions and ‘solutions’ are amusing to the extreme if not entirely absurd and insular.

His latest offering, a talk that has been published, is dramatically titled, “Breaking the Chains of Debt Peonage.” But of course REALITY dictates that Americans are not able to break a spider’s web let alone any psychological shackle imposed on them by the ruling plutocracy.

Real solutions are very ‘thin’ on the ground but divorced from reality strategies abound; the latest is to free ourselves from imposed financial debts resulting from the inequitable distribution of real wealth in America. It should be noted that the people allowed the current yawning disparity in real wages to occur, so complaining after the fact seems like whining more than anything else!

Social analyst and commentator Hedges more than most should have noticed that his fellow Americans allow themselves to be degraded and psychologically demeaned to the extreme at local airports, of course I refer to the practice of ‘genital groping’ by perverts posing as government security staff. No other culture on earth would tolerate for a second this level of personal intrusion, so what does it tell us about the American population? A few things come to mind immediately; the American people for the most part are clearly slaves, a subjected population, broken in spirit, body, mind and soul, I mean really, who else would passively and shamelessly submit to crotch handling? Even the current lying president has made jokes about genital groping at the public’s expense; that is the same public that re-installed Obama to the White House for a second term -- it seems that shit-eating Americans can’t get enough demeaning and degrading treatment!

We are faced with some difficult to ignore realities, Mr Hedges; Americans lack all self-respect (they) are fearful, timid and subservient to the extreme -- gutless slaves to put it brutally and succinctly; indeed what the American population lacks above all else is, COURAGE. All the revolutionary discourse in the world is wasted on cowards, Mr Hedges. Nothing will or can change until such time that the people imbue themselves once again with the magic essential ingredient for personal and social change -- COURAGE!

Do you see now why your pet Occupy ‘movement’ was doomed before it started -- it even failed to live up to the one charter tied to its name -- it failed to occupy Wall Street when confronted with Bloomberg’s police. Everything comes at a price, and until you’ve had your (unprotected) heads cracked with police batons a few times and your uncovered faces recorded by regulators a few times more, BUT return to fight again, and again, and again, NEVER RELENTING, you will never know experience or feel the rush of sweet VICTORY!

I’m afraid the prognosis is not good Mr Hedges, heroic acts defy reason, they fuel on passion and conviction, two qualities unheard of in today’s America.

I leave you now to dream your American dreams/delusions and deny the reality of your tragic lives. Make no mistake, the world correctly views America as a nation of passive cowards governed by sociopaths.
