Where is Putin?

US Sec. of State Rex Tillerson recently delivered a nice backhanded slap to the face of Putin by announcing that uninvited, therefore illegal, US occupation forces will remain in Syria indefinitely -- how does it feel, neutered Putin, the ally you do not need in times of crisis, as Russia’s track record highlights?
Putin’s cowering behaviour when confronted with overt criminal US aggression is legendary and never mentioned by pro-Russian alternative journalists, but fact is fact and so is Putin’s historically cowardly behaviour, notwithstanding he has international LAW on his side regarding ousting American forces from Syria.
Quoted from MOA, here’s Tillerson’s latest remarks in a nutshell:
"Yesterday Secretary of State Tillerson announced the official "new" U.S. position on Syria. It is essentially a recap of the position the Obama administration had long held and does not make any more sense:Yet we know that Putin is loath to oppose the USA pursuing its illegal regime change ambitions and numerous other war crimes while also attempting to disrupt and weaken sovereign Iran, another Russian ally!
Speaking in a major Syria-policy address hosted at Stanford University by the Hoover Institution, Tillerson listed vanquishing al-Qaeda, ousting Iran and securing a peace settlement that excludes President Bashar al-Assad as among the goals of a continued presence in Syria of about 2,000 American troops currently deployed in a Kurdish-controlled corner of northeastern Syria. [A parrot could have repeated this tired, failed policy.]
The real number of U.S. troops currently occupying Syria is around 5,000 soldiers plus an equal number of 'contractors'.”
