cajole me
tempt me
lure me
to your domain

why wait for me
waiting for you,
make your move

i would cross
the wild bleak plains,
span the grassy
steppes,
navigate fertile
valleys and emerge
from hidden gorges
to be with you

would you conquer
the great massif
and scale its
icy slopes
for me?
i would do that and
more for you;

make it plain
call only my name,
ask me to stay with you
and i will lay with you
for a thousand nights
and greet a million
gleaming dawns
with you by my side

search every facet
of my soul with your
(probing) mind and
soothing eyes
test my sincerity

stay
with me only
and i will be yours
for an eternity

like a flower
i open only
to the radiance
of a heart that’s true
