Duplicitous Abbott promised more jobs but Creates more Unemployment
by stan Friday, Dec 12 2014, 9:10pm
international / prose / post

The entire nation is now aware that Abbott does the exact opposite of what he promises, hypocrite is too mild a term for that fraudulent scoundrel, his finance minister today announced that the government will take the axe to the public service sector, hundreds, if not thousands of jobs will go. But what does Abbott care, people are only numbers to him?

Fraud and liar, Tony Abbott
Fraud and liar, Tony Abbott

Th budget hole is simply the result of the failure of government to obtain revenue from the wealthiest in the land -- a simple AUSTRALIAN rule applies here -- 'those that benefit most from the nation should return most to the nation', it really is that simple -- of course I am referring to multi-national tax avoiders, banks and other large corporations that Abbott PANDERS to. Why Aussies continue to tolerate this unrepresentative scoundrel is beyond me, charges should be brought against him for the calculated and intentional fraud and deceit he perpetrated on the nation in order to gain the office of PM -- PROSECUTE, and be rid of this LYING scoundrel forever!

Media report follows:

Government to scrap 175 agencies: report

Jobs will go when the federal government moves to scrap a large number of government agencies.

Finance Minister Mathias Cormann indicated that the axing of government agencies, reported to be 175 in total, will lead to job losses.

"If you reduce the number of government bodies, there will be an impact on jobs across the public service," he told Sky News today.

"What we will see is that as a result of our reform efforts so far, that the size of the public service will be back down to the same level as what it was in 2007, 2008.

"We think that's appropriate."

News Corp Australia reported that 175 government agencies will be scrapped in a bid to make budget savings and streamline the public service. Senator Cormann was expected to announce the cuts on Monday as part of the Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook.

"The goal is to ensure that the government is as big as it needs to be but as small as it can be," Senator Cormann told Sky News.

"We believe that we inherited a bloated public service from our predecessors.

"Part of our effort to repair the budget is to ensure that the administration and the operations of government are as efficient and as effective as possible."

The agencies to be cut include the Australian Government Solicitor, with some of its staff transferred to the Attorney-General's Department, News Corp reported.

It says the departments of health and education are named as two of the priorities for further work on streamlining the bureaucracy.

The abolition of 175 agencies would further damage the Australian economy at a time when it was already stalling, Opposition Leader Bill Shorten said.

"I think the federal government is in danger of stifling the confidence of hundreds if not thousands of jobs," he told reporters in Brisbane.

"Australia's at a crossroads. We are narrowly reliant on our mineral sales globally to sustain Australia - the price of our minerals is falling.

"The last thing Australia needs now if we want to have growth in the future ... is for Tony Abbott to be killing jobs and killing confidence."

Mr Shorten urged the prime minister to use Monday's MYEFO to drop its "unfair measures", including changes to university fees and cuts to pensions.

He rejected Senator Cormann's reasoning that the government had inherited a bloated public service.

"They've been in government for nearly 500 days now. When will Tony Abbott stop blaming everyone else and start accepting responsibility?"

It should also be understood that Bill Shorten has no balls and is not the solution as he is also owned by the same interests that control Abbott, the unrepresentative, MINORITY big end of town -- this is clearly a matter for the UNIONS and the PEOPLE!
