Gina Rinehart blames poor for national debt
by laura Friday, Mar 7 2014, 2:56am
international / prose / post

Gina Rinehart, billionairess and formerly world’s richest woman, pontificated on Australia’s poor and the national debt today, but before proceeding I would cite a ‘slight’ problem -- tax-avoiding Rinehart is probably the most unqualified person in the country/world to give any advice relating to the poor and the causes of national debt.

Gina Rinehart - weird and dangerous!
Gina Rinehart - weird and dangerous!

Rinehart was born to extraordinary wealth and wanted for nothing for her entire life. She may know a thing or two about mining and overindulgence but poverty, give the poor a break!

Rinehart in typical plutocratic fashion -- she shares ownership of the current PM, Tony Abbott, with Rupert Murdoch -- blamed the poor for Australia’s national debt when it is plain to see that a fair tax levy on the HUGE profits earned by various Transnational corporations EXPLOITING OUR RESOURCES at incredible speed, would solve national and all other debt combined -- notice how quickly former PM Kevin Rudd was turfed from office after he announced he would substantially increase the mining tax, which of course the plutocrats ensured would never happen, ‘sit, that’s a nice boy, Tony.’

Rinehart’s dissociative accusation reveals how completely out of touch the woman is. Furthermore I remember very clearly paying 47cents in the dollar tax while Packer, Murdoch and Rinehart paid less than 5 cents in the dollar tax.

Those that take the most should return the most -- pure, simple and FAIR policy!

In the meantime, surely a woman of Rinehart’s wealth could afford a media and PR consultant, who would have immediately advised against making such an absurd and offensive statement in egalitarian, ‘fair go’ Australia.

Now consider the mining industry and the trillions of dollars in profits it takes offshore to avoid its tax responsibilities -- no miner to date has offered to give a fair percentage of the profits they rape from OUR nation back to its rightful owners -- THE PEOPLE! Did you get that, Gina, Australia is still a Common-wealth?

Rinehart also lauded the failed queen of laissez-faire capitalism, Margaret Thatcher, whose heartless policies she adores:

“Thatcher steered through a lack of courage in her own political party, which had become riddled with lefties or 'non-courageous wets' and self-interested power mongrels, who didn't grasp or didn't want to grasp what was needed for their own country,'' Rinehart said.”
Never mind the REALITY that laissez-faire capitalism was directly responsible for the global economic collapse of 2008, notwithstanding that Rinehart’s immense wealth would have insulated her from that global financial catastrophe!

Rinehart should also note that is was the people’s money that was used to bail out corrupt, inept, criminal Bankers and laissez-faire capitalists when THEY blew it -- so please, go lecture your dog or Tony Abbott, you insular, rich kid, dunce!
