Greek-Aussie, Yanis Varoufakis made his international name by becoming finance minister of the failed socialist Greek government which tragically capitulated to the criminal bankers of Europe. He resigned prior to that tragedy for Greece, he should have known that modern Greeks have a tendency to habitually shoot themselves in the foot. So his endeavours in Greece were a waste of time, however, he learned much during his combat with the European banker elite. (full story)

The state of most media today is sad, pitiful, and hopelessly unbelievable. From the BBC to the New York Times, any semblance of believability is gone. What makes matters worse though, are what amounts to popularity factions in social media. The information world has never been so polarized, while the public sinks into a kind of neo-tribalism. Vladimir Putin is the fall guy, Barack Obama a joke of history, and the new candidates for President of the United States caricatures of leadership for the most part. If only Bernie Sanders could turn out to be something other than a wolf in sheep’s clothing, maybe we’d have a chance! (full story)

Not so long ago informed Aussies used to mock ignorant, banjo-playing, flag-waving Americans. But times have changed and the plague (ignorance) that only infected America has now infected most of the western world -- the infective agent of course is the privately owned, CFR controlled, corporate mass media, which is nothing more than a disinformation machine. American propaganda, combined with new digital technologies fashioned in such a way as to encourage narcissism and insulate millennials from reality, has led to a pervasive ignorance; the focus of the vast majority today is whether they are 'liked,' more selfies if they are not until they get a thumbs up, the process is circular and immensely time consuming, perfect! Have no illusions, the TPP is a private, multi-national bloc that subverts democracy and allows private interests to sue the democratically elected governments of signatory nations over 'projected' profit loss threatened by such 'petty' concerns such as workers rights, safe working conditions and environmental concerns, particularly pollution and other toxic threats, not to mention anticipated price hikes on medications and other essentials and the certain off-shoring of thousands of jobs. Put simply, the TPP must be stopped, the price of acquiescence to profit-only-driven concerns is far too great. Allowing avaricious private entities to hold legal sway over sovereign nations and domestic laws is an outrage!

I lament the fact that the so-called alternative media has also been swept up in the charade/ruse of democratic elections. An elementary school kid is able to trace the money and easily appreciate who actually rules and yet the blind lead the blind with ‘left and right’ illusions when in fact it is the oligarchs and plutocrats that determine who takes leadership of all western nations today. Iran has just announced it will trade its plentiful oil in euros rather than dollars and so the writing is on the wall for the petro-dollar particularly in view of the fact that the USA utilises its currency to wage economic warfare. Indeed, America has forced the situation on itself by subverting its own currency and forcing targeted (for ‘containment’) nations to establish new trade relationships/blocs based on other currencies and trading banks.
