Misappropriation of Meaning

descriptors tumble onto
a page or other medium,
like drunks ejected
from a bar
they veer, correct themselves
and momentarily regain
composure
then
for a very brief period
prior to forming
images,
intended meaning
is transmitted
with perfect clarity

it is known that
the insobriety
of literary critics
gnarl and mangle
meaning until it becomes
art,
which is something special,
something to adore
or deplore
