shadow puppets play tonight
moving in two dimensions
across the screen

puppets outlined
by the light source
behind them
skilfully manoeuvred
by the puppeteers

playing out age old themes
that haven’t changed
since the dawn
of mankind

tonight one puppet
moves away from the screen
toward the light
and becomes
a three dimensional Being
ruining the play
