Reality, Meaning and Religion

I had occasion for great mirth when I encountered possibly the most tragic, desperate and sorrowful piece I had ever read on the American condition. What made it more tragic was the fact that it was written by seemingly educated thinking people, yet it was painfully apparent they were all SLAVES to the dominant cultural prescription. Not one exhibited a personal connection to the living, infinite cosmos of which we are all a living part.

I shall begin with the title, hilarious: “I Asked Atheists How They Find Meaning In A Purposeless Universe.” Talk about a whopping baseless ASSUMPTION! Where did this moron get the idea that existence without a manmade God was “purposeless?” We had better do a little background work on ‘Gods’ first.

Since recorded history insecure humanity has created over 10,000 Gods (fact) across all cultures and historical periods, so the deities worshipped today have a history, which is easily traceable to ancient myths and legends of self-begotten ‘supernatural’ Solar/phallic Gods however, the major fact always remains – ALL GODS WERE CREATED BY MEN -- as any religious text indicates, they were all written by men in a linguistic cultural context! Why? The answer should be obvious. ‘Organised’ large societies required an ideology or belief system that facilitated social cohesion and ‘crowd control’ with a pre-determined view that all social energies should be harnessed in the service of a ruling elite, whether priest class, deified Pharaoh/emperor or otherwise is immaterial, as it is the process that is crucial. Intelligent readers have already grasped the point, RELIGION IS SLAVERY, pure and simple!

All religionists admit they are SLAVES by declaring their belief in a fictive text written by MEN who had one aim, to ideologically harness the unruly (dangerous) masses; that reality should be self-evident, however, for those that require incontrovertible proof, research any popular God today and trace its history, as “nothing social issues from a vacuum,” my former lecturer in semiotic analysis would say.

Surely the cultural specificity, particularly language, of various Gods described in TEXTS gives the (slave) game away, but socialisation or cultural inculcation from an early age is more powerful than reason, as is evidenced by the billions of moron religionists that believe in impossible fairy tales.

So we easily establish that religion was created by men and is sustained by men today with very clear views on maintaining power, wealth and social influence. The resulting conclusion infers there are no Gods which man hasn’t created; ask any fool religionist to prove the point and he/she will instantly refer to a text written and produced by men, I need not pursue the obvious point.

Okay, so let’s look at the text of the article a little closer. The first paragraph reveals more than the tragic writer wishes to admit, I’m sure; in essence he is stating he is a slave, not to a God but to his culture – is there a difference (?) – he clearly is a slave to the dominant social/cultural discourse as it’s known technically. However, I’m sure you want proof, not the blind faith of children, morons and religionists.

To justify his non-belief in a God, the writer describes his source of belief, and here it comes:

“The way I find meaning is the way that most people find meaning, even religious ones, which is to get pleasure [American hedonism] and significance from your job, [American protestant work ethic] from your loved ones,[modern (created) alienated nuclear family] from your avocation, art, literature, music.[ more sense pleasures] People like me [and there are many] don’t worry about what it’s all about in a cosmic sense, because we know it isn’t about anything. [wrong, infinity couldn’t persist if it wasn’t perfect, think about it!] It’s what we make of this transitory existence that matters. [finally, a rational statement.] (My brackets.)
